How to edit a rental before the rental starts.
An accepted rental can be edited before the rental start time.
The rental can be edited using the edit rental function, which the renter can find under the rental agreement in the renter's profile.
- Go to our front page.
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Click on “Rentals”.
- Click on the rental you want to edit.
- Scroll down and click on “edit rental”.
When the renter sends a request to edit a rental, the car owner is automatically notified. The car owner can then either approve or reject the changes. However, some changes do not require the car owner’s approval and are automatically modified or added to the rental. Below are the changes that require landlord approval and those that can be added without car owner’s approval.
Changes that the car owner must approve (automatically accepted if the car owner offers instant booking):
- Changes to the rental period's start and end times.
- Purchase of extra kilometers.
- Purchase of foreign insurance.
Changes that the car owner does not need to approve:
- Purchase of reduced excess.
- Purchase of an additional driver.
When a rental is modified, we automatically charge or refund the difference between the original and new booking to the renter, depending on whether the rental becomes more expensive or cheaper.
Please note that a rental is only changed when the car owner or the system has approved the changes. If the car owner rejects the changes, the entire rental is canceled. If the renter still wants to rent the car during the original period, the renter must book the car again.
The option to edit a rental disappears after the rental start time. At this point, it is not possible to edit the rental anymore.
